Welcome to our Costa Rican house rental, Villa Hada Escondida. Located in the tranquil Los Angeles area of San Ramon, our rental house is a beautifully-designed and relaxing home where you can live like a local during your vacation in Costa Rica. Surrounded by pastoral views of the stunning Central Valley, our home is only 10 minutes from the center of San Ramon, two minutes from the road to La Fortuna/Arenal, and one hour northwest of Juan Santa Maria International Airport, San Jose. Located in Alajuela province, San Ramon is a perfect choice after a long day of flying or as a beautiful place to base yourself as you explore Poas Volcano, Monteverde or the nearby Los Angeles Cloud Forest.
What does the house’s name mean?
Villa Hada Escondida means Country House of the Hidden Faeries. Our two small children love faeries and all things magical and they truly believe that faeries exist, especially in their special country house in Costa Rica.
Rental House layout
Styled after a Tuscan farmhouse, you will love the breezes that pass through the open layout of our home's dining, kitchen and living area. Beautifully-designed with Costa Rican hardwoods and terracotta tile throughout, the house has all the comforts of home for your vacation. The first floor features a gourmet kitchen with a beautiful wooden dining table, living room area, and full-service laundry room. The downstairs bedroom has twin beds, and you can enjoy views of the back garden and hills beyond right from the beautifully-tiled bathroom shower. The tiled terrace has a hammock that will make the perfect spot to spot and log wildlife using Villa Hada Escondida's binoculars and birding notebook. The log lists the 45 species of birds that have been seen around the house and in the Los Angeles area. The notebook also contains information on local points of interest along with maps of how to get there. Upstairs you'll find an open-beamed ceiling great room with the master bedroom on one side and a loft/sitting area on the other. From the master bedroom's queen-sized bed you can listen to the birds and watch the stars. The loft area has a full bath and a futon bed that sleeps two. The entire upstairs area looks out onto gorgeous views of rolling hills through huge windows. The upstairs balcony has comfy rocking chairs that are perfect for relaxing with cup of Costa Rican coffee while bird-watching, reading guide books. And there's plenty of room for practicing yoga.
The house is on nearly two acres with guava trees right next to the terraces. For adventurous nature-lovers, there's an easy walking path that leads to a small creek and nearby waterfall. This is a very relaxed area, full of amazing mountain views, lush vegetation, lots of wildlife and fresh cloud forest air. This is a glorious area for enjoying all the beauty of Costa Rican nature and our rental home is a non-smoking home.

Our Costa Rica house rental is a perfect place to experience the natural wonders of Costa Rica in a tranquil and lush location surrounded by wildlife and pastoral views. Ideally situated for exploring the Los Angeles Cloud Forest, the Central Valley towns of Sarchi, Grecia and Zarcero and Volcan Poas, you'll love relaxing in our home after a fun day of exploring. Our location close to the airport makes our rental home a great choice for your first or last few days in Costa Rica, as well as a great place to base yourself for daytrips to Monteverde, Arenal and the Pacific Coast beaches. Only minutes away you can take a guided day or night tour through the 6.75 miles of trails in the Los Angeles Cloud Forest, try zip lining through the canopy or go horse back riding past working dairy farms. Or just stay put, make a cup of Costa Rican coffee in our kitchen and do some bird and wildlife watching from Villa Hada Escondida's upstairs and downstairs terraces! Because we want all our guests to fully enjoy the clean fresh air of the mountainous cloud forest climate, our rental house is a non-smoking home.
