Please note we do not accept bookings with fewer than 5 days notice. Because the house can be difficult to find after dark (and because driving at night is not a good idea in Costa Rica) all guests must plan to arrive at our house prior to 5.00pm (17.00) local time to pick up the keys from our caretaker. Guests MUST provide us with an approximate arrival time no fewer than 5 days prior to their date of occupancy so we can arrange for our caretaker to meet you at the house. Guests arriving on a Sunday will pick up the keys at the caretaker’s house, one mile from our house.

Our vacation rental house is located in tranquil Los Angeles Sur, 5 kilometers north of the city of San Ramon, in the mountainous western highlands of Costa Rica’s Central Valley and a few minutes from the road to La Fortuna/Arenal. At an altitude of 3,200ft., the house has breathtaking pastoral views of the Central Valley and sits on the southern edge of the Los Angeles Cloud Forest. Morning and afternoon cloud mist are a spectacular part of this unique ecosystem and make our home a tranquil and romantic escape. Our home is a perfect choice of accommodations for a week of exploring the beautiful Central Valley or for your first or last few days in Costa Rica since it’s just one hour from the San Jose airport. Staying at Villa Hada will shorten your trip up to La Fortuna/Arenal as it’s one hour closer than most Alajuela/airport accommodations. It’s a beautiful place to base yourself as you explore the Los Angeles Cloud Forest, San Ramon, Sarchi, Grecia, Zarcero, Poas Volcano or any of the Central Valley’s attractions.

Payment Policy
We accept PayPal, Visa and Mastercard at the time of reservation. Half (50%) of your deposit is due within 5 days of the reservation request. We cannot hold reservations dates without a deposit.

Security Deposit
A fully refundable security deposit for the house keys in the amount of US$75.00 is required at the time of the second deposit (30 days prior to occupancy). This key deposit in the amount of US$75.00 will be released by the Owner and refunded to Tenant within two weeks after check-out date unless keys are not returned upon check-out to the caretaker. The key deposit will NOT be refunded if keys are removed from Costa Rica with the intention of mailing them to the Owner in the United States. The key deposit will NOT be refunded if keys are lost or stolen.

Cancellation policy
Due to the nature of our business, we get most of our bookings three months in advance. Since the house does not have the benefit of walk-in guests as does a hotel, when we reserve your dates with a 50% deposit, we will be turning away other bookings for the same requested dates. If Tenant wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows: For cancellations made greater than 30 days prior to rental date, we will refund 50% of monies ONLY if a new rental agreement ("booking") replaces the dates agreed upon. If no rental agreement has replaced the dates reserved, NO refund will be provided. For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to rental date, we will refund 25% of monies ONLY if a new rental agreement ("booking") replaces the dates agreed upon. If no rental agreement has replaced the dates reserved, NO refund will be provided. The key deposit is 100% refundable upon cancellation.
